Billy Ray Pait Sr., 83, U.S. Navy Veteran of Bladenboro, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 13, 2022.
Billy loved his church, family and working. His accomplishments in this life included serving as Bladen County Commissioner from 1992-2016, the Lumber River Council of Government from 1987-2016, Bladen’s Bloomin’ Committee, Bladen County Social Services Board, Southeastern Regional Mental Health Board, Bladen County Board of Health, Community Christian Academy School Board, Community Baptist Church Treasurer, Choir Leader for 50 plus years, Sunday School Teacher, Deacon and Sunday School Superintendent, Manager at Pait Real Estate Inc. from 1973 -2011, Pait’s Construction Foreman, Pait Landscaping Owner, served in the Army National Guard 1954-1956 and U.S. Navy 1957-1963.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 16, 2022 from 5-8 pm at Community Baptist Church in Bladenboro. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 17th at 1 pm at Community Baptist Church with Bill Pait Jr. (son), Rev. Joshua Sykes and Rev. Robert Ohlmann officiating. Burial will follow the services in the church cemetery.
Billy was preceded in death by his parents, Clayton and Louise Pait, two brothers James Edwin Pait and Windell Pait, one sister, Jeanette Brooks and son-in-law Phillip Torre Villagomez. He is survived by his wife, Emma Jean Brisson Pait; children, Billy Ray Pait Jr. and wife Angela, Camille Pait Villagomez, David Nelson Pait and wife Elneta, and Andrew McLean Pait and wife Angela; 13 grandchildren, Victoria Grace Pait, Charity Noel Pait, Alise Nicole Pait, Lincoln Pait Villagomez, Billy Ray McLean Pait III, Andrew McLean Pait Jr., Madison Shiann Pait, Isaac Anthony Mendoza, Maeghan Ritchie, Gabrielle Kathryn Pait, Lydia Louise Villagomez, Georgia Grace Pait and Aaron Luke Pait. He also leaves behind three siblings, Levy Pait, Jane Grey Pait and Betty Sue Cummings.
