Alta Musselwhite

Alta Marie Dove Musselwhite, 81, of Council, NC went to her eternal home on September 9, 2022. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Troy Musselwhite, her parents, Calvin Dove and Mittie Pait Dove, and several brothers and sisters. Alta leaves behind two sons, Wade Musselwhite of Council (Joyce), and Johnny Musselwhite of Virginia, one daughter Aletta M. Powell (Steve) of Texas, one sister Delphia Pait of Raleigh, three grandchildren Jacob Powell (Payton), Cody Powell (fiance' Chloe McGuffin), and Marilyn Musselwhite, five step grandchildren, one great grandson Grayson Powell, 14 step great grandchildren, and 13 step great-great grandchildren.

Alta cherished her family and enjoyed spending time with them. She was a lifelong member of Lisbon Baptist Church. Visitations to the nursing home with the church and singing in a gospel group were some of her best times in this life. Alta loved people and enjoyed sharing the gospel through songs. She also enjoyed working in her yard. Alta’s compassionate and gentle spirit will certainly be missed.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 13th from 6-8 pm at Bladen Gaskins Funeral Home in Elizabethtown. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 14th at 2 pm at the Lisbon Baptist Church with Rev. Mark Creech officiating. Burial will follow the service in the Mt. Horeb Cemetery.
