Adeline Josephine Davis Banner

Adeline Josephine Davis Banner, 93, of Bladenboro went to her eternal home on Thursday, March 28, 2024, while at Woodhaven Nursing Center in Lumberton. She was born in Bladen County on June 27, 1930, to the late Ephraim Davis Sr. and Nina Lewis Davis.

She was preceded by her parents, her beloved husband John L. Banner, six brothers, William, Harley, Smith, Garfield, Bernard and Ephraim Jr. Davis, four sisters, Clara Singletary, Carrie Baldwin, Eileen Cole, and Doris Davis, and a host of brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. Left to cherish her memory are daughter Debra Banner of Morgan Hill, CA, two brothers-in-law Cleo Banner of Bladenboro, Joseph Banner of Bladenboro, four sisters-in-law Janice Cox of Maryland; Flossie Banner of Bladenboro, Geraldine Davis of Bladenboro and Rachel Davis, three grandchildren Latriece E. Manning, D.O., Tondra Manning, and Marques W. Manning (Elizabeth), eight great grandchildren DeQuan, DeAnna, Peace, Amin, Lindan, and John Manning, Cheyenne and Savannah Lewis, and one great-great grandchild “Madyson”.

Adeline was full of life. She enjoyed playing Bingo and meeting new people. Folks enjoyed laughing and talking with her about life. She loved spending time with her daughter, her grandchildren and her nieces and nephews. She will always be remembered fondly for her love of life and the unconditional love she shared with so many.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of Woodhaven Nursing Center for their care during the stay of Ms. Adeline. A special thank you to these ladies who went above and beyond their call of duty: Cece, Teresa, Elena, Melody, Nancy, Shauna, Shelby, Natasha, Whitley, Tabitha, and Ms. Rosa.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 4, 2024, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at the Bladenboro Chapel of Bladen Gaskins, 800 N. Main Street, Bladenboro, NC 28320. A graveside service will follow the service in the Davis Cemetery of Bladenboro at 1:30 pm.
