Edna Cook Dowless June 29, 2010

Edna Earl Cook Dowless, age 77, of Bladenboro entered into eternal rest Tuesday, June 29, 2010 at Southeastern Hospice House in Lumberton. She was a long time member of Center Road Baptist Church and taught the Beginner’s Sunday School class for twenty-five years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, DHL and Margaret Virginia Edwards Cook; one brother, Joe Cook and one sister, Evelyn Melvin.

She is survived by her husband, Gurney Dowless of the home; three sons, Donald Dowless and wife, Janet, Lewis Dowless and wife Joann and Terry Dowless and wife Mary B. all of Bladenboro; one brother, Lee Wayne Cook of Wilmington; one sister, Edith Kinlaw of St. Pauls; five grandchildren, Michelle Pait, Amy Britt, Greg, Tracy and Cameron Dowless; six great grandchildren, Zac and Caleb Dowless, Nathan and Nolan Pait, Jacob and Abby Britt. Much loved nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 30, 2010 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at Bladen-Gaskins Funeral home. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 1, 2010 at 11:00 am at Center Road Baptist Church with Dr. David Pyatte and Rev. J. Vernon Britt officiating. Burial will follow in church cemetery.
