Annie Merle White Elam February 02, 2010

Annie Merle White Elam, 86, of Greensboro, formerly of Bladenboro entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, February 2, 2010 at Beacon Place in Greensboro. She was born in Bladenboro on August 30, 1923 to, Henry James and Esther Marie Thompson White.

The family will receive friends on Friday, February 5, 2010 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at Bladen-Gaskins Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 6, 2010 at 11:00 am at First Baptist Church of Bladenboro with Rev. Bert Young officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Crest Cemetery.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John E. Elam; parents, Henry James and Esther Thompson White; brothers, Henry James White, Jr. and Donald White; one sister, Marie White Bridger all of Bladenboro, and a son-in-law Richard Wetzel of Richmond, VA.

She is survived by three daughters, Annette Elam Wetzel of Midlothian, VA and her children, Julia and Ted Trebour, Anna and Jonathan Rabhan, and Karl Wetzel; Sarah Elam Edmondson and husband Darryl of Screven, GA and their children, Rebecca and Hugh; Meredith Elam Muse and husband Harold of Greensboro, NC, and their children Anderson and Jonathan; and by her son, John Edgar Elam, Jr. and former wife Donna of Fairmont, NC, and their children Courtney, John Edgar, III ( Trey), and Jameson. Her great-grandchildren are Jackson and Collin Trebour, Jacob Wetzel, and Dylan and Peyton Bullock. Also surviving are her brothers and sisters-in-law, Harold and Sue White of Durham, NC, Jerry and Jane White, Betty White and Wilma White all of Bladenboro, NC.
